Note that this area will only be made available after finishing the Main Quest The Wings of the Ten Walkthrough.

How to Locate the Shining Wastes Tallneck

Unlocked The Wings of the Ten Quest

Once you've unlocked the The Wings of the Ten Walkthrough Main Quest the location of this Tallneck will be marked by Tilda. You can fly straight there from the base!

Overriding the Shining Wastes Tallneck

Carefully Fly Over the Tallneck

It's very simple to fly over the the area using the X button to fly over. Once you arrive, hover using the O button and move up or down using R1 and R2 respectively.

Ravagers might be able to shoot you a bit like this so try to keep out of their sights when you can.

Land on the Tallneck's Head

There's no need to climb the tallneck as you just need to perch yourself on the top when you have a flying mount! So simple hop off and override the Tallneck!

Override the Tallneck With Your Spear

Now all you have to do is step forward and use your spear to override the Tallneck. This will reveal a chunk of the map, along with the machine sites that you can find!

Note that this does not count as one of the Tallnecks to finish all Tallnecks and is instead a part of the quest.
