You can cause an explosion that will tear off a portion of Slaughterspine's health by hitting the Purgewater Canisters using Purgewater Damage. It will also instantaneously put it in a Drenched State, increasing the effects of Frost and Shock Damage.
You can use the Spinetail Launcher on Slaughterspine's Tail once it's on the ground. Since Slaughterspine's Tail moves from time to time, it will be hard to hit it. Use weapons with blast damage instead of arrows and other single-target ones to shoot it and remove it more easily.
You can cause an acid explosion once you rupture the Metalbite Sac on Slaughterspine's arms. It will put acid all over its body that deals continuous damage while weakening its armors.
Slaughterspine is overly vulnerable to Frost Damage. You can also put it on a Brittle State with enough hits, increasing all damage it takes and slowing it down, and helping you yank off its health much faster.
