How to Unlock New Game Plus
Complete the Main Story
Just like in Horizon Zero Dawn, finishing the game unlocks a New Game Plus mode, made available in Patch 1.14 of Horizon Forbidden West. Players who have already finished the game before will receive a notification after the update that informs them of New Game Plus now being available.
This also unlocks new dyes, weapons, and face paints!
Story Walkthrough and All Main Quests
How to Create A New Game Plus Save
| Step 1 |  In order to begin a New Game Plus playthrough, players will need to return to base and interact with the Zentih Tech at the center area. You will see a plus icon hovering over it. |

| Step 2 |  Once selected, you will be given a pop-up that will confirm whether you would like to continue a New Game Plus save. Agree, and you will be brought to the difficulty selection screen once more! |
What is Unlocked in New Game Plus?
New Weapons & Dyes
With the update, 8 new Legendary weapons have been made available in a New Game Plus playthrough! These weapons can be found at all merchants and can be bought with Champion's Tokens!
New Dyes have also been made available for purchase!
All Legendary Weapons and Locations
Skills, Weapons, and Inventory
Like the previous game, Skills and Weapons remain unlocked. This means that players can still access their end game weapons at the beginning of their NG+ Playthrough!
In addition to this, players will also have access to their inventory, such as traps and potions!
Special Items
Special items such as the Vine Cutter, Diving Mask, Sunwing Call, and the like do not need to be unlocked again! These items will carry over to your New Game Plus save. Players can now easily unlock areas and access things much earlier on.
Datapoints & Collectibles
While players will need to collect all datapoints and collectibles once again, all previously acquired items and datapoints can be seen greyed out in the notebook!
Other information such as profiles, machines, and the like, remains as well.
GEMINI Override
One of the biggest carryovers in New Game Plus is the GEMINI Override! While they may be hard to find before entering the Forbidden West, this is a huge jump for players to travel over the map before the end game!
What is New Game Plus?
A Way to Play Again Without Starting from Scratch
New Game Plus is a feature frequently available in games that allows players who have finished the game to start again with the inventory, upgrades, and levels they acquired in their previous playthrough. This lets those who enjoyed the main story experience it again, without feeling like they had to lose all their progress to do so.
New Game Plus in Horizon Zero Dawn
Horizon Zero Dawn featured a robust New Game Plus mode, allowing a player in a completed game save to create a new loadout to use in a New Game Plus file at any time, so they could continue building up before setting off on the New Game Plus file.
It even featured several new gameplay additions, such as the inclusion of Adept Weapons, and new versions of existing weapons with an upgraded maximum of 4 modification slots.
