Amadis Profile and Backstory

Personality

Amadis tends to be very blunt in confrontational, while at the same time, has a tendency to not speak much about himself. Even though he has his own spear and weapons, He would rather avoid Machines than hunt them.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Amadis was a member of the noble Beit Raveesh family. Unaware of Sun-King Jiram's tyranny rule, he joins the army, Red Raids out of naive patriotism. He quickly became disillusioned by the cruel bloodshed inflicted on local tribes by the Carja army.

He eventually befriends a womand Nessa, disguised herself as a man to join the Red Raids, and they form a friendship based on saving innocents from cruel Carja soldiers. Unfortunately, Amadis got in an argument with his commanding officer, who had sent Nessa's unit to fight a large group of Tenakth warriors. This resulted in Nessa's unit being slaughtered and the comanding officer's death due to Amadis defending himself. The death of his commanding officer made Amadis a fugitive.

Horizon Forbidden West

Amadis meets Talanah and together they save a Carja village from rampant machines. After hearing how Talanah put her family's memory to rest, he returns to the Forbidden West to do the same for Nessa. Talanah asks Aloy to help search for him Amadis and they eventually find him near Thornmarsh who is searching for clues regarding the fate of Nessa

The three end up heading toward a Tenakth prison called the Rot. After they liberate the prisoners from the captors, Amadis learns that Nessa did not actually did on the battlefield 5 years ago, but instead was taken to the Rot, where she became a Tenakth warrior and changed her name to Ritakka. Although the news of her being alive is a shock to him, he eventually regains his composure and heads back to Carja.

Skills and Abilities

Skilled Combatant

Amadis is a talented trapper and a former officer in Carja's army. His skill with the bow helps Aloy and Talanah take down a Tideripper, and although he does not hunt Machines, he is shown to carry a spear as well.
