List of Contents
Burrowers are the most common enemy type in the Forbidden West with over 15 different variants. These meerkat-like machines will patrol a certain area and alert nearby allies of immediate threats. This machine is known to burrow undergound much like a Rockbreaker and attack in packs.
Scroungers are smaller canine-like machines that bear a resemblance to Scrappers. They share a similar attack pattern of simply lunging towards you when you are scanned as a nearby-threat. They also share a common weakpoint, an energy component at their posterior.
Leaplashers are kangaroo-like machines that carry a good deal of resources in its cargo pouches. This machine also uses its cargo pods as ranged projectiles lobbed towards Aloy.
Spikesnouts have the ability to buff up nearby allies and dampen the damage dealt by Aloy's arsenal. Fortunately, this anteater-like machine's greatest asset is also its greatest weakness; the sacs on its underbelly and tail are highly explosive components.
Skydrifters are flying scout machines. This machine is agile while in flight but is easily targeted when it is perched. It has a razor tail that it uses for its primary melee attack. Take out its Antenna and Scanning Unit to cut it off from its pack and pick them one by one.
Plowhorns are bulky Triceratops-looking machines that are used for dispersing seed onto plowed land. The horns of this machine is extremely valuable and can be used to upgrade weapons and outfits. Be sure to detach them before taking out this machine.
Bristlebacks are buffalo-like machines that can be mounted for travel. While significantly slower than a Charger on mounted travel, this machine does provide more protection due to its sheer size comparison.
Fanghorns share a similar design between a Grazer and a Lancehorn. This deer-like machine is capable of using its antlers as capable melee weapons. They are most vulnerable when exposing the canisters on its back.
Widemaws are large hippopotamus-like machines that have retractable tusks that it uses for its main melee attack. This machine also utilizes a vacuum unit to hurl projectiles towards nearby threats. Its most vulnerable components can be found on its underbelly and backside.
Clawstriders are Velociraptor-like machines that are as agile and aggressive as the dinosaurs they resemble. These machines can be mounted and controlled for both combat and transport.
Grimhorns are merely Plowhorns that are specifically modified for combat. They share most of the basic components, but it trades its Seed Dispersal unit for a Seige Mortar. This machine is more aggressive and sturdier than a regular Plowhorn.

Sunwings are Pterodactyl-like machines that you can mount and fly on. While being only slightly larger than a Glinthawk, this machine is large enough for Aloy to ride and travel on.
The simian-machine Clamberjaw uses the concussion sacs on its head to temporarily stun Aloy. It also uses Fire-based ranged attacks from its tail. The sacs on its head and body are highly explosive components that should be targeted first.
The Rollerback is a machine seemingly inspired by the Ankylosaurus in its design. This machine uses its massive tail as its secondary melee weapon. Its most devasting attack is its rollout charge when it transforms into a ball.
Equipped with metal fangs and wings as large as a Stormbird's, the Dreadwing lives up to its name. This giant machine also has the ability to shoot element based projectiles, echolocate, and cloak itself with the same stealth generator as a Stalker. This machine truly is a nightmare.
The Tideripper is reminiscent of the Pleiosaurus. This large machine is a threat both on land and in water. With its TIdal Disc, it's able to shoot jetstreams of Purgewater over a large area. Reminds you of the Loch Ness monster doesn't it?
The Shellsnapper is a massive machine tank. Equipped with its energy-absorbing shell, this machine can take on virtually anything. This machine also has the ability to burrow underground and strike unsuspectingly from below.
The Slitherfang is one big massive snake machine. This machine has a variety of elemental based attacks which revolved mostly around the use of Metalbite and Purgewater.
The Tremortusk is truly a titan of a machine. This gigantic mammoth-like machine is equipped with multiple cannons that it uses for its long-range attacks. However its true danger lies with its 4 tusks.
Tremortusk: Machine Guide
A gigantic machine that rivals and perhaps even dwarfs the Thunderjaw, the Slaughterspine is a true apex machine in the Forbidden West. This machine is equipped with Glowblast-based components that fuel its Plasma-based attacks.
The Specter is a machine of advanced technological design. This machine appears sleaker than other machines previously encountered, equipped with self-regenerating Nano Plates, this is a machine that has to be dealt with as quickly as possible.
Specters: Machine Guide
The Specter Prime truly is the pinnacle of Far Zenith technology. This is the ultimate combat machine designed only to fulfill the wishes of its creator. By far the most advanced piece of technological advancement Aloy has had to face. the Specter Prime is the most dangerous machine in the entire game.
