APOLLO is presented as having no hostility toward humans whatsoever. This is particularly noticeable when Aloy retrieves it and offers to bring it home to GAIA.

APOLLO was intended to be the last subordinate functions to be deployed, providing knowledge on how to rebuild the world after the new generation of humans had been born. Feeling guilty for the causing the Faro Plague, and not wanting his involvement to be made known, Ted Faro Destroyed APOLLO. This resulted in humanity becoming more tribal in with little knowledge regarding technology.

After the Mysterious Signal corrupted HADES, and GAIA destroyed herslf to prevent extinction, a deranged and semi-conscious APPOLLO fled to a processor somewhere in the world. While APOLLO still exists, it is nothing more than an empty shell and Its current location is unkown.
