How to Save Game Progress

Manual Saves

You can manually save your game by interacting with campfires (marked on the map with a bonfire icon) and pressing the square button. The unique aspect of Manual Saves is that it allows you the option to overwrite your current save file or create a save file in a new slot. When loading a save, you can select between a Manual Save file and an Auto-Save file.

Quick Saves

Quick saving overwrites the save file you are currently using. Unlike a Manual Save, Quick Saving does not allow you the option to save in a new slot.

Auto-Save by Reaching Checkpoints

The Auto-Save function automatically saves your game progress on its own. Auto-saving happens when you reach a new checkpoint. When selecting Load Game from the menu, you will have the option to load either a Manual of Auto-Save.

How to Load Saves

Select Load Game

Loading saves can be done at any time by pressing the options button to pause the game, then selecting Load Game. This will bring you to a screen where you can choose to load any previous save, whether it's a Manual Save or an Auto-Save.

Select Restart From Save

By pressing the options button to pause the game and selecting Restart From Save, you will load the most recent Save File available. This can be useful for restarting cerain challenges such as the Hunting Grounds.
