Obtained During the Main Quest The Sea of Sands

The first objective of this quest is to obtain the parts necessary to craft the Diving Mask, since the entire mission takes place underwater. After you gather the necessary parts, return to Morlund so that you can craft it.

A new mechanic in Horizon Forbidden West is swimming underwater. With the Diving Mask, you don't have to worry about running out of air while exploring the bottom of the sea.

Diving underwater is a good way to escape the pursuit of machines that will not follow you into the water. It can also be used to sneak up on enemies from behind, as diving underwater keep you hidden.
