This guide will show you how to complete the Signal Spike, a Side Quest in Horizon Forbidden West (HFW). Read on to learn the quest objectives, strategies, location, and rewards for completing the Signal Spike Side Quest.

To unlock this quest, go Camp Nowhere. This area is accessible after completing The Eye of the Earth main quest.
Talk to Mindah at Camp Nowhere to begin the side quest.

1 | Meet Silga and Kill the Machines Follow the map waypoint until you encounter Silga fighting machines. Kill the machines and talk to Silga. |
2 | Follow the Wires and go to the Spike Follow the wires until you reach the spike on the cliff. |
3 | Reacquire the Signal After reaching the spike, reacquire the signal by listening to the message. |
4 | Return to Silga Return to Silga to uncover the next objectives. |
5 | Go to the Tower in Scalding Spear Travel to Scalding Spear to uncover more parts of the message by climbing on the side of the tower. |
6 | Go to the Mountain on top of the Base Go to another signal point in the mountain on top of the Base. Use the tree nearby to go up the mountain. |
7 | Kill the Machines Along the way to the top, you will face some machines, which include Sunwings. Kill them and climb up further. |
8 | Continue Upwards the Mountain Use your Focus to find climbing spots while going up. There are also some Pullcaster spots that will make the climb easier. |
9 | Kill the Machines After climbing, you will reach another area with Sunwings. Take them down to keep moving up. |
10 | Reacquire the Signal Go up the highest point of the mountain to reacquire the signal. |
11 | Go to the Origin of the Signal Follow the marker to the signal's origin point. You can use the Shieldwing to glide all the way from the mountain to get there faster. |
12 | Kill the Machines near the Signal Point To access the signal point, kill the surrounding machines to begin checking the area. |
13 | Find the opening to the Signal Point Use your Focus to find a rock barrier that you can pry to retrieve the supplies. Once inside, swim inside the cavern to the left until you reach the crate. |
14 | Loot the Crate and Return to Silga Open the crate to retrieve the supplies and the message. After that return to Silga to give her the communicator. |
15 | Craft a Weapon in the Workbench Use Silga's workbench to craft a new weapon and finish the side quest. |
Sunwings are weak against Fire and Freeze arrows, which damage them over time. This also makes them land on the ground often leaving them vulnerable to spear attacks.
You will be able to acquire a new weapon, the Spinethorn Spike Thrower, after using the workbench at the end of the side quest.
