No Official Announcement of DLC

So far there has been no official announcement by Guerrilla Games on whether Horizon Forbidden West will receive DLC. However, there has been wide speculation by fans of the franchise on what it could contain and when it would come out.

DLC is Very Likely to Happen

Though there has been no confirmation of any DLC, it is very likely that the game will receive DLC sometime in the future. The current Standard Edition of the game is its Launch Edition, which implies that there will content added to the game after launch.

In addition, the previous DLC in the series, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds, was widely successful, which incentivizes the developers to continue adding DLC to upcoming games.

Horizon Zero Dawn Frozen Wilds

Horizon Zero Dawn, the previous game in the series, also had DLC released soon after its release date. It dropped in early November of the same year, less than nine months after the release of the base game.

Because Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West have similar release dates, both being released in late February, it is possible that their post-release timelines will match up as well. It is very likely that new DLC for Horizon Forbidden West will come out later this year at around Fall of 2022.
