Lifesprings or Expedition Intel are a type of World Intel that reveals region lore and other points of interest in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth). Learn the locations of all Lifesprings in each region and the new Region Intel they unlock.

How to Reach and Activate: Climb up the mountain besides the Wetlands swamp west of the map. You will see a set of yellow rocks on the side of a cliff. Climb them until he reaches the intel.

How to Reach and Activate: Cross the Wetlands swamp. You will see stairs with rust next to a circular building. Climb it and then you will see another building with rusted stairs. Climb those stairs until you reach the top. Head north and you will see a broken rail. Walk between those rails and then jump to the edge of the cliff until you reach the lifespring.

How to Reach and Activate: Use the Ocean Chocobo's Chocojet to approach from the water to the northeast, and look for a cylinder made of rock. Go into the top and proceed through to reach the Lifespring.

How to Reach and Activate: Use the Ocean Chocobo and approach from the water to the north, and land on the high ground. Go south to the opposite end and find a slope going down into a pool. Chocojet up into a hole to find it.

What are Lifesprings?

Unlocks Region Lore and Points of Interest

When activated, Expedition Intel or Lifesprings unlock either Region Intel, Excavation Intel, or Classified Intel in addition to providing EXP.

Region Intel provides lore relating to the area or the surroundings. Excavation Intel provides the location of a buried item that can be unearthed by your Chocobo. Classified Intel provides an enemy for you to defeat.

Unlocks in a Specific Order

The intel unlocks of Lifesprings or Expedition Intel are not tied to locations and are rather unlocked in a specific order.

Follow Owl to Find Crystal

To find the location of Lifesprings, keep a lookout for owls and listen for hoots. Once you are able to spot one, follow it, and it will lead you to the crystal.

Their color changes depending on the region. For example, they appear red in Grasslands and black in Junon.
