Use the weapon upgrades feature to strengthen your weapons and get new weapon skills in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth). Learn how you can upgrade weapons here and how to set weapon skills here.

Access Upgrade Weapons from Menu Screen

FF7 Rebirth - Upgrade Weapons Main Menu
To start, open the main menu by pressing the Options button. From here, simply select Upgrade Weapons to open the upgrade screen.

Set Weapon Skills

Next, select the weapon you want to upgrade. Depending on your weapon level, skill slots will be limited, but you can increase them further as you progress and get more SP. For the skills themselves, you can unlock them in each character's folio.

How to Set Weapon Skills

1	In the upgrade screen, first select the character whose weapons you want to upgrade.
2	Choose the weapon you want to upgrade. From here, you will also see all the weapons they can use from your inventory.
3	Press the triangle button (△) to set the skills. Hover to any available slots and assign the skill you want to use.

Use Auto-Upgrade to Automatically Set Skills

Alternatively, you can also use the Auto-Upgrade function to by pressing the Options button to automatically set the skills of your weapons. You can choose between a balanced, offensive, and defensive set, depending on your preference.

Level Up Weapons to Gain Weapon Stat Boosts and Effects

In addition to the Folio Skill Tree, new skills can also be acquired by simply increasing your weapon level. With each level gained, new skills are unlocked for your weapon, along with a couple of stat boosts.

Use SP to Raise Weapon Levels

You can also use SP to gain more weapon levels. You achieve this by either leveling up your character or unlocking their manuscripts through side quests or the Moogle Emporium.
