What are Side Quests?

Optional Quests with Special Rewards

While exploring the expanding map of FF7 Rebirth, you might come across people who will make a request and send you on a Side Quest. These are optional quests you can complete to explore more of each region and receive special rewards.

The rewards you can obtain from side quests can range from rare Materia, unique Weapons and equipment for your party, Manuscripts, Party EXP and Player EXP, and other items you won't find elsewhere!

Increase Friendship with Party Members

Completing a Side Quest will often improve your relationship with your party members, thus increasing your friendship level with them, indicated by colored circles above their heads.

Your relationship status with your party members will affect events that occur when you visit the Gold Saucer.

Fight Unique Enemies

You might also find powerful enemies while doing side quests that will force you to strategize instead of simply spamming Spells and Abilities! Don't forget to use Assess on these unique enemies to keep your Bestiary updated!
