Chocobo Hidden Treasures

Chocobo Hidden Treasures or Chocobo Excavation Sites are buried items that can only be found and dug up by a Chocobo.

When the ? mark icon appears above your Chocobo, it means that they sense a buried treasure nearby. Hold the Up button to sniff the air and use the right stick on the controller to face the scent.

After facing the scent, it will start to become visible. Follow it and press the down button to excavate the treasure.

Is the Order of Locations Similar to the Original?

Some Areas Are Not Available Until Part 3

Location Order Similar to Original
During a developer interview for Final Fantasy 7 last September 14, 2023, it was mentioned that the order of the locations you can explore will not be the same as in the original FF7. This means that some locations from the original FF7 won't be available until part 3 of the remake is released. This includes Wutai, which was previously accessible in this section of the game. Although there are some changes in the order of the locations, the main story will still conclude in the Forgotten Capital.

The second junon Chocobo treasure location beside the crow's next rest stop is bugged or it was labeled in the wrong location because it doesn't trigger there for me.
