The Philosopher's Riddle can be acquired in Castol's Folly at Dawnshore. From the southeast shore, platform upwards to reach the ruins. Collect the unique weapon embedded on the ground next to rock and flora.

| 1 |  Start inland and climb up the wooden platforms. |
| 2 |  Upon climbing, take the left path and climb the platforms to reach the top. Remember to use running momentum to reach ledges. The Philosopher's Riddle can be seen immediately upon reaching the ruins. |

Overwhelming Argument for Enhanced Attack Speed

Overwhelming Argument is the best choice by far. This enchantment further enhances this Great Sword's strength—its high potential attack speed.
Selecting its counterpart, Cutting Retort, will remove the attack speed. Additionally, stun and bleed Power Attacks are not The Philosopher's Riddle’s forte, as builds using this weapon should focus on maximizing DPS through its fast swing rate.

This gilded quill does not use ink, and words can't change my course. In the right hands I protect the meek, while others carve a path in blood. What am I? Though many think the answer is simply the sword itself, a number of other solutions have been posited by high-minded thinkers and scholars throughout the years. What the actual answer is, none can say. The smith responsible for creating this beautiful weapon refused to spill their secrets that have since followed them to the grave. |
