Aloy's Spear is one of two weapons that you receive at the very start of the game. These weapons will immediately appear in your inventory and you do not need to do any tasks to receive them.

Horizon Forbidden West Melee Combat

Spears are the only melee weapon in the game and are used in close-quarters combat against human and machine enemies. Spears can also unleash a variety of attacks, including Resonator Blasts, Power Attacks, Critical Strikes, and different types of combos.
