The Ropecaster is used to tie down machines and temporarily remove them from battle, allowing you to focus on other targets. You can also use it to limit their mobility and make them easier targets for attacks. For the ropes to penetrate armor, the Ropecaster must be fully drawn.
Enemies tied down by Elemental Ropes, like Shock Ropes and Plasma Ropes, take elemental damage, and the area around the anchor point also inflicts additional residual damage. However, elemental ropes are less effective at tying down enemies than standard Binding Ropes.
When upgraded, this weapon gains a perk which allows it to deal additional damage over time using these elemental ropes.
