The Desolate Mine is located in Cheydinhal's Fighters Guild. Talk to Burz gro-Khash to start the quest.

Talk to Burz gro-Khash
Head to Cheydinhal's Fighters Guild and talk to Burz gro-Khash to start the quest. He'll let you know that you will need to deliver weapons to the Desolate Mine.
Burz will give you three weapons: a steel bow, a steel longsword and a steel warhammer and will ask you to head up to the mine.
Head to The Desolate Mine
The Desolate Mine is northwest of Cheydinhal. When approaching the area, you will spot out a goblin outside. Kill it before entering the mine.
Talk to Rienna
Talk to Rienna and she'll let you know that the mine's been overrun by goblins and to distrubute the weapons given to you to her and her three men.
Distribute Weapons Accordingly
Each team member will prefer a certain weapon over the other. Talking to them about Weapon Shipments will clue you in on which of the three they want. Rienna will automatically pick up the bow upon talking to her.

Kill All Goblins
After distributing all weapons, they will immediately dispatch and go fighting the goblins in the mine. Your gold reward will depend on whether or not all three remain alive at the end so it's recommended to follow either Rienna or Elidor during this.
Using spells like Target Fortify or Restore Health will keep your team alive.

Report to Burz gro-Khash
Once all goblins are dead, Rienna will let you know to go back to gro-Khash for your reward.
The Desolate Mine Rewards
Gold From Burz gro-Khash
You will receive gold depending on your level from Norbert directly after the quest. This will depend on your player level upon completion.
Promotion to Journeyman
If you've completed the quest, The Unfortunate Shopkeeper, in Anvil, talking to Burz gro-Khash afterwards will promote you to Journeyman. Otherwise, you will need to complete both for your promotion.
