This is a list of companions you can recruit in The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered. Read on for a list of all permanent and temporary followers, including info on how to recruit them as well as how to command and dismiss them.

 Adoring Fan |
Kill the Gray Prince, Agronak gro-Malog, in the Arena. |
 Mage Apprentices |
Complete the Mages Guild questline and become the Arch Mage. |
 Dark Brotherhood Murderers |
Complete the Dark Brotherhood questline. |
 Flame, Frost, or Storm Atronach Familiar |
One Atronach familiar of any type can be "recruited" after offering the correct amount of ingredients to the Atronach Altar in Frostcrag Spire. Note: The Frost and Storm Atronach Familiars are smaller versions of their summoned counterparts. |
 Battlehorn Man-At-Arms, Battlehorn Castellan, and Castellan Athon |
Liberate Battlehorn Castle and unlock it as a player home. You can find the Men-At-Arms and the Castellan wandering the first floor halls. |
 Everscamps (x4) |
Acquire the Staff of the Everscamp during a side quest in Leyawiin. |
Temporary Followers

 Ilend Vonius |
Can be recruited during the main quest, Find the Heir. He'll approach you after entering the Oblivion Gate in front of Kvatch and you'll be able to temporarily recruit him by saying Hold on. I can use your help here. |
How to Command Companions
Speak to Them to Issue Commands
To issue commands to your companions, simply speak to them to see all the different commands you can have them do. The list will vary depending on your chosen follower.
Dismiss Companions from the Same Menu
Permanent companions can be dismissed from the same menu where you see commands that you can issue. However, do note that the exact text will vary depending on your chosen follower.
Temporary followers like Ilend Vonius (the Kvatch soldier you encounter inside the Kvatch Oblivion Gate), will simply leave your squad once you reach a certain point of their related quest.
