To join the Thieves Guild, the first step is to get arrested and jailed. In order to get arrested, players must commit a crime first, which will cause guards to be summoned and make the arrest. Players will then need to choose the Go to Jail option.
Although any crime will trigger the arrest, stealing is perhaps the simplest crime to commit. When stealing, it's important to note that the item must have a red text in order to trigger the arrest.

Once inside the jail cell, interact with the bedroll by selecting Sleep. A message will then pop out asking players, 'Do you just want to serve your time?'. By choosing Yes, they will be able to get out of jail quickly.

Once released from jail, players will have to wait for Myvryna Arano to show up, and then talk to her. She will give a mysterious note to players to read, which will trigger the Finding the Thieves Guild quest.

It's best to use the Wait Timer mechanic and set it to at least 4 hours instead of just waiting for Myvryna Arano.

In the mysterious note that was given, it is inviting players to go to the Garden of Dareloth in the Imperial City Waterfront at midnight for a meetup. It's best to go to the location first, then use the Wait Timer mechanic to fast foward the time to midnight.

Once it's midnight, two NPCs will appear in the area, Armand Christophe and Methredhel. Talk to Armand Christophe and select the Mysterious Note dialogue option. Afterwards, the Join the Thieves Guild dialogue option will be available, which will start the initiation process.

Although players can choose the new dialogue option, the initiation won't start until Amusei shows up. Players will just have to wait for a while for the NPC to show up before starting the initiation process.

To get inducted to the Thieves Guild, players must complete the May the Best Thief Win quest. The quest has players compete against Methredhel and Amusei to find and steal Amantius Allectus' Diary. Whoever steals it first, will be inducted to the guild.
After stealing the diary, talk to Armand Christophe again and choose the Thieves Guild Test dialogue option to finish the initiation and be inducted to the Thieves Guild.
