Attribute Stat Meaning
Strength ・Affects DMG when using Longswords, Claymores, Maces, War-Axes, Battle-Axes, Warhammers, and bare hands.
・Dictates how much you can carry
・Slightly increases max Health
Intelligence ・Determines your max Magicka
Willpower ・Determines how quickly you regen Magicka
・Greatly increases your max Fatigue (Green Bar)
Agility ・Affects DMG when using Daggers, Shortswords, and Bows
・Slight increase to max Fatigue (Green Bar)
・Determines how fast you regen Fatigue (Green Bar)
Speed ・Determines how fast you move
Endurance ・Greatly increases your max Health
・Determines how fast you regen Health out of combat
Personality ・Affects how much people like you, leading to better info-gathering and trade deals
Luck ・Affects the final level of all your Skills
・Luck above 50 brings good events
・Luck below 50 brings bad events

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered has eight primary attributes that determine the level of your skills and abilities.

These attributes will have a value ranging from 0 to 100, but the 100 value can be exceeded by using enchantments or other positive effects.

Skill Stats

Skills

The skills in the game are divided into 2 main sections, which would be Major and Minor Skills. These skills will be decided by your class, forming the foundation of what will be your strengths and weaknesses.

Major skills are more closely related to your class, which makes them easier to increase when trying to gain experience. These skills are 20 levels higher by default, given that they're primary skills in your class.

Minor skills are not really correlated to your class, which makes them less of a priority. They start at a lower level by default, and they are also slower to increase.

Each skill has 5 ranks, with each rank providing an additional buff once you've leveled up a particular skill to a designated rank. These ranks are Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert and Master.

Combat Skills

Skill Stat Meaning
Blade Affects how much damage you deal with Daggers, Shortswords, Longswords, and Claymores.
Blunt Affects how much damage you deal with War Axes, Maces, Battle-Axes, and Warhammers.
Hand-to-Hand Affects how much Health and Fatigue Damage you deal with your bare hands.
Block Determines your effectiveness when blocking an attack with a shield or weapon.
Armorer Affects how well you can repair your weapons and armor.
Heavy Armor Affects the durability and protection stats of worn Heavy Armor.
Athletics Affects how quickly you run, swim, and sprint.

Combat skills will revolve around the effectiveness of your weaponry and armor, helping you hone your battle skills to a razor edge that can help cripple your enemies during combat.

Magic Skills

Skill Stat Meaning
Destruction Reduces the Magicka cost when casting Destruction spells. Higher levels allow you to cast better Destruction spells.
Restoration Reduces the Magicka cost when casting Restoration spells. Higher levels allow you to cast better Restoration spells.
Conjuration Reduces the Magicka cost when casting Conjuration spells. Higher levels allow you to cast better Conjuration spells.
Illusion Reduces the Magicka cost when casting Illusion spells. Higher levels allow you to cast better Illusion spells.
Alteration Reduces the Magicka cost when casting Alteration spells. Higher levels allow you to cast better Alteration spells.
Mysticism Reduces the Magicka cost when casting Mysticism spells. Higher levels allow you to cast better Mysticism spells.
Alchemy Determines the effectiveness of created potions and helps you identify ingredient effects.

Magic Skills will provide you with abilities and buffs that can make you an effective spellcaster during combat or outside of it. Enemies will cower to your magical strength as you display your expertise in Magicka.

Stealth Skills

Skill Stat Meaning
Marksman Affects how much damage you deal with Bows.
Sneak Affects your ability to deal extra damage when undetected, pick pockets, and move unseen and unheard.
Light Armor Affects the durability and protection stats of worn Light Armor.
Acrobatics Affects your ability to jump higher and avoid falling damage.
Security Affects the difficulty of lockpicking.
Mercantile Allows you to get better deals when buying or selling gold.
Speechcraft Affects your ability to persuade listeners to like and trust you.

Stealth Skills will enable you to live in the shadows, sneakily passing through enemies like wind and slipping past locked doors to acquire treasure. Make use of your agility to blend with the crowd and fight in secret.

How to Increase Stats

Level Up Your Character and Distribute Virtues to Attributes

Virtues

Leveling up in the game will enable you to acquire Virtues which you can distribute to your Attributes.

Each virtue provides an increase of 1 point when given to an Attribute, with the exception of Luck which requires 4 to raise it by 1 point.

Alter Attribute Stats Using Items

You can also try altering your Attributes using magic, potions, enchanted items, or diseases. The alterations will be based on the methods you've chosen to alter your Attribute stats.
