There are multiple homes available in The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered, and there's no strict best house among all of them. Check out some of the best houses in the game, as well as what makes them so good, here.

Note: You can only fast travel from the insides of a house you've purchased, and it won't work if you try to do it from one of the free houses outside a city.
Benirus Manor
Benirus Manor is the best purchasable home since it is the only house that doesn't require the player to buy any upgrades to refurbish it. Instead, they need to complete the quest Where Spirits Have Lease, and it will automatically be renovated afterwards.
Where Spirits Have Lease Walkthrough
Cheydinhal House
If you don't mind spending a bit of gold on renovating a house, then consider purchasing a home in Cheydinhal. Besides being decently sized, there are multiple containers stacked on top of one another on the second floor, which makes it easy for you to stow and sort goods.
Frostcrag Spire
The Frostcrag Spire is an amazing house to upgrade since it has an Altar of Enchanting, an Altar of Spellmaking, and an Altar that summons an Atronach companion. There's also a garden with Alchemy ingredients that you can pick, and it also replenishes over time.
Even if this is a magic-focused home, all types of builds can use the services inside, except for Spellmaking, depending on the character.
Dunbarrow Cove
What makes Dunbarrow Cove different from the other homes is that there are a lot of trainers and merchants who also reside here. This is especially good if you like stealing items since they all act as fences, and they can purchase stolen goods off of you.
As a note, this home is less flexible when compared to Frostcraft Spire since the services here are more tailored to Stealth builds.
Battlehorn Castle
Battlehorn Castle is arguably the most impressive home that you can get since it really makes you feel like an incredibly powerful and influential person in the world. However, there aren't as many services offered in this property, but the sheer size and grandeur can make it worth it, depending on the player.
