| S-Tier Explained | |
|---|---|
| Game-Breaking Utility | An unbreakable lockpick, eliminating the need to carry or buy regular lockpicks. It makes lockpicking way easier and saves you from the burden of constantly breaking picks or dealing with the lockpicking minigame |
| Best for Enchanting and Recharge | Lets you endlessly recharge enchanted weapons or create new ones without constantly buying or hoarding grand soul gems. ▶ How to Recharge Weapons |
| Permanent Stat Boost | Gives a +10 boost to two attributes and three skills based on the path you choose (combat, stealth, or magic). The effects are permanent and offer a power spike with no downsides, just a one-time upgrade. |
| A-Tier Explained | |
| Best Damage Output |
Goldbrand Fire Damage on Strike
Goldbrand has the highest DPS for melee weapons, combining its high base damage with a powerful fire enchantment. |
| Best Utility |
Umbra Soul Trap on Strike
In addition to having the highest base damage among Longswords, Umbra's enchantment automatically applies Soul Trap to enemies on hit. This pairs perfectly with your magic weapons, especially Goldbrand, letting you easily recharge them without needing Soul Trap spells. ▶ How to Recharge Weapons |
| Best for Magic Resistance |
Saviour's Hide Resist Magic on Self (25%)
Saviour's Hide grants +25% Magic Resistance, which is great for those needing more magic defense when wearing light armor. This is equivalent to the Orc's natural Magic resistance bonus. |
| Best for Magic Reflect |
Spell Breaker Reflect Spell on Self (30%)
Spell Breaker grants Reflect Spell on Self (30%), which is great for those needing more magic defense. |
| B-Tier Explained | |
| Good for Stealth | Gives Chameleon (35%) and Fortify Speed (25 pts); great for stealth builds, but loses value over time, once you craft better custom gear or spells. |
| Decent Damage Reflect | Grants Reflect Damage (12%) and Reflect Spell (10%), which are solid defensive effects. However, the ring is limited by its low stats and is usually outclassed by custom enchantments in the late game. |
| Decent Damage |
High base damage and Drain Fatigue enchantment make it a strong early-game weapon, but it’s heavy, slow, and outclassed by late-game custom enchanted hammers. |
| Decent Damage Low DPS |
High damage with Drain Strength and Drain Magicka, but its slow attack speed limits its DPS. Effective against certain enemies, but outpaced by faster, more versatile weapons. |
| Decent Damage but Outclassed |
Ebony Blade Silence on Strike, Absorb Health on Strike
Grants Silence on Strike and Absorb Health, making it useful for both disabling enemies and restoring health. it's outclassed by more powerful weapons like Goldbrand and Umbra. |
| C-Tier Explained | |
| Summons Daedra |
Sanguine Rose Sanguine Rose on Target
Summons a Dremora to fight for you, but the summon is weak, and it’s not as effective as other combat-focused artifacts. The effect is fun, but not reliable in tougher battles. |
| Summons Duplicate |
Skull of Corruption Corruption on Target
Allows you to create a duplicate of a humanoid enemy, but the damage output is low and the summon often behaves unpredictably. It's gimmicky, making it fun in some situations, but overall underwhelming in combat. |
| Transforms Enemy |
Wabbajack Wabbajack on Target
It can potentially turn enemies into harmless creatures, but it can also backfire and make them stronger. The random effect can be amusing but is too unpredictable to be relied on in serious combat. |
| Less Effective Stat Boost |
Masque of Clavicus Vile Fortify Personality on Self (20pts)
While it boosts Personality, the bonus is not as effective as other stat-boosting items. It’s more useful for roleplaying or building charisma than for actual combat or survival. |
This tier list ranks the Daedric Artifacts in Oblivion Remastered based on their usefulness, combat performance, and overall value throughout the game. S-tier artifacts like Skeleton Key, Azura’s Star, and Oghma Infinium offer powerful, lasting benefits that greatly enhance gameplay.
A-tier items such as Goldbrand and Umbra are strong and reliable, though not quite as game-changing. B-tier artifacts have specific uses or are helpful early on but are usually replaced by better options. C-tier items are mostly situational or novelty-based and offer little benefit in regular gameplay.

During the Main Quest Blood of the Daedra, Martin will ask you to give him a Daedric Artifact that will be permanently destroyed.
We recommend sacrificing the Wabbajack or any other C-tier Daedric Artifacts such as the Masque of Clavicus Vile, Sanguine Rose, or Skull of Corruption, as they offer little practical value in combat or long-term progression.
If you haven’t completed any Daedric quests yet, the main quest will direct you to complete Azura’s Daedric Quest, which rewards you with Azura’s Star. However, we strongly advise against this, as Azura’s Star is an S-tier artifact that provides unmatched utility for enchanting and weapon recharging throughout the game.
