Improve Skills to Gain XP
You gain experience and level up by improving your Skill stats by doing skill-specific actions. In the new leveling system, Skill stats increase more straightforwardly, with your class' Major Skills increasing faster. Additionally, the higher a Skill's level, the more XP you gain when improving it.
For example, Athletics increases by moving around, Blade improves by striking enemies with swords, Magic skills level up by casting spells from their respective schools, and Sneak increases while sneaking behind enemies.

The Level Up Icon Will Appear on the Top Right of the Screen
Once the bar fills after gathering enough XP, a Level Up icon will appear in the top right of the screen, indicating that you're ready to level up.
Level Up by Sleeping on a Bed
To directly level up, you need to sleep in any bed for any amount of time. Upon awakening, the Level Up screen will appear.
Allocate Points to Your Attribute Stats
On the Level Up screen, you’ll have twelve points, called Virtues, to distribute among your Attributes. You can choose up to three Attributes only to improve per level, and each can be increased by up to +5. You must also spend all 12 Virtues to continue on.
Each Virtue adds +1 to the selected Attribute, except for Luck, which requires four Virtues for just a +1 increase. Choose wisely to maximize your build!
