Goldbrand (Best Damage Output)

Boethias Shrine

Goldbrand is the reward for completing Boethia's Daedric Quest that you can start in Boethia's Shrine. However, this quest is only available to those at Level 20 or above, barring this powerful sword strictly for the mid-late game.

Boethia's quest involves them sending you to their Oblivion plane for you to fight nine other champions. Upon besting all nine champions, you will be brought back to the real world as Boethia's Chosen One and rewarded Goldbrand.

It is a late-game weapon for a reason, as it boasts the highest damage outputs of all melee weapons, having incredibly high base damage plus an extra +20 Fire Damage on each hit.

Umbra Location

The Umbra Sword is a high-level weapon you can obtain early by defeating Umbra, found in the Vindasel ruin southwest of the Imperial City. While tough to beat at low levels, there are strategies to take her down early to get her sword and armor.

Umbra boasts one of the highest base damage among longswords and has a highly useful Soul Trap enchantment. Especially when paired with Azura’s Star, it has extremely efficient weapon recharging. This is perfect for recharging enchanted weapons like Goldbrand without having to rely on Soul Gems and spells.
