The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion - Difficulty Setting Differences and How to Change

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered has several difficulty settings you can adjust to your preference. Learn more about the difficulty settings in the game, their differences, and how you can change them.

All Difficulty Settings

Combat Difficulty Setting Differences

Combat Difficulty Differences
Novice Your character is a force of nature to the eyes of your enemies as you will be tearing them apart like paper. Damage incurred will hardly impede your progress to victory.
Apprentice You can still unleash serious damage against your foes, but they can now hurt you to a moderate degree during battle.
Adept Battles will now be fought on equal footing, which means that your character and foe both have the upper hand in battle.
Expert Enemies will now have a slight advantage against you when it comes to the damage they can unleash in combat. Learn to be cautious as damage incurred can be deadly.
Master Your enemies will now dominate the battlefield as their attacks can completely decimate anything that comes in their path. You will be incurring damage like how a sponge soaks up water.

The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered has 5 difficulty settings that you can choose from: Novice, Apprentice, Adept, Expert, and Master.

Unlike the original game where the difficulty can be adjusted on a slider, you will be able to pick out a specific difficulty based on your desired preference.

How to Change Difficulty

Open the Menu and Change It in the Systems Tab

You can adjust the difficulty setting of the game by opening up the menu using the Map shortcut and navigating to the Systems tab.
