Mysticism is one of the most important skills to level up because of the spells and enchants you get. Aside from the ever useful Spell Reflection, having Soul Trap is near mandatory for maintaining your enchantments, and you can get infinite Magicka with the combo of Spell Absorption and Telekinesis.

Even though this skill is more known for its healing, what makes it really strong is actually the different Fortify spells you get access to. When combined with custom spell creation, you can start buffing your attributes and skills to values that cannot be reached without it.

Aside from being the main damage for mages, Destruction has some of the most important offensive enchantments in the game. If you combine effects like Weakness to Magic, Fire, Frost, and Shock with Drain Health, Fire Damage, Frost Damage, and Shock Damage, you can easily wipe out any enemy in the game.
Also, if you use Absorb or Damage Speed to reduce an enemy's Speed attribute to 0, they will be rendered immobile, allowing you to get free hits and sneak attacks in easily.

Alchemy can be daunting to get into for newer players, but being able to apply powerful effects at will without casting a spell is incredibly useful. It's recommended to level this as soon as possible so that making potions becomes a lot easier and it won't be as confusing.
