Unfriendly Competition - Book

Many books in this game are not required for quests and do not provide any bonuses. They are only available as entertaining reads or sources of lore.

It's a good idea to only hang onto books that you want to read again, and get rid of books that you won't ever open for the rest of your playthrough. Having multiple books in you inventory can really bring up your inventory weight, so it's best to get rid of the ones you no longer need.

Skill Books and Map Books Don't Need to be Kept

Heavy Armor Repair Book

Some books grant you points to certain Skills when opened. Once you receive the Skill point, the book has done it's job, and you are free to sell it or toss it out.

The same goes for books that provide map pins when opened. Once they have marked your map, you can safely get rid of this book.

Where to Keep Books

Bookshelves at Your House

If you don't want to carry your books in your inventory, you can place them on bookshelves or other furniture items at your house. They can also be placed in storage containers.

Since there are a lot of books you can get in the game, they can serve as nice decorations for your home.
