You should keep Soul Gems and sell regular gemstones in The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered. Read on to learn which gemstones you should sell and which gems you should keep during your playthrough.
List of Contents

Precious gems' only purpose is to be sold to get income. Diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, rubies, topazes, and pearls, as well as gold and silver nuggets are types of precious gems that should be kept when you find them and then sell them once you get the chance.
The amount of gold that you can get from selling these gems can be seen in the inventory. These gems can be usually found through random loot or inside enemy camps.

You should always keep any Soul Gems that you have as they can enchant items such as weapons or armor as well as recharging enchanted weapons. You can do this by capturing a soul of an enemy or an NPC into the soul gem.
Avoid selling soul gems as they are useful for bolstering your weapons.
