Arrow of Extrication Location
Go to the Imperial City and Talk to Amusei
Arrow of Extrication is located in Imperial City. You will first need to complete the Turn a Blind Eye quest and collect 700 gold worth of stolen items in order to unlock this quest.
From there, talk to Amusei and inquire him about the details of the quest.

Arrow of Extrication Walkthrough
Talk to Amusei in Imperial City
You will need to wait a couple of hours in Imperial City in order for Amusei to show up and give you the details for your quest.
He will only appear after you've collected 700 worth of stolen gold and completed the Turn a Blind Eye quest. Amusei will inform you that Gray Fox wishes to meet you at Ancrus' house in Chorrol.
Travel to Chorrol South Gate
Once you've traveled to the Chorrol South Gate, proceed southwest of the area until you've reached Malintus Ancrus' House.
Head inside, and talk to Gray Fox. He will ask you to brim him the Arrow of Extrication from Fathis Aren, Bravil's court wizard.
Head to Bravil
Travel to Bravil and talk with Wretched Aia to learn more about Fathis Aren. You may need to pay her some gold or raise your disposition to get some information.
Aia will tell you that Fathis keeps most of his treasured items in a tower outside of town. She adds that there's a secret passage in the castle that leads to the tower.
Travel to Castle Bravil
Travel to Castle Bravel and proceed inside the door that leads to the Castle Bravil Great Hall. From there, head up the staircase and enter the Lord's Manor North Wing by lockpicking the door.

Activate the Movable Pillar
Once inside, head left and lockpick the door to enter Fathis' room. Head north of the room, and check the structure that has two pillars on the stone wall. Activate the right one to reveal a secret passageway.
Proceed along the passageway and lockpick the door that leads to the Bravil Wizard's Grotto.
Head to Bravil Wizard's Lair
After entering the secret passageway, you will have to navigate the labyrinth by following the objective marker on top of your screen.
You will have to distract some Dremora Caitiff to distance them from doors you're trying to enter. Some areas in the labyrinth also require you to swim, so make sure you have spells like Water Breathing or Buoyancy to help you swim effectively.
Once you have followed the objective marker and explored the area, you will need to lockpick the door that leads to the Bravil Wizard's Lair.
Head to Fathis Aren's Tower
After you've entered the wizard's lair, continue following the objective marker and lockpick the gates that are hindering your path.
Avoid detection from enemies roaming around the area by casting an invisibility spell on yourself such as Ghost Walk or Spectral Form.
You will eventually encounter a door that leads to Fathis Aren's Tower. Lockpick the door and head inside.
Steal the Arrow of Extrication
Once you're inside the tower, use the staircase on your right and climb it until you've reached the third floor. Explore the area, and you'll find Fathis Aren standing in what appears to be his room.
Enter the room and open up Fathis Aren's Chest. Take the Aren's Tower Key and Key-Shaped Arrowhead from inside the chest and escape the room. Fathis Aren will likely pursue you.
Head down the tower area, and go outside through the Giant Door to Tower of Fathis Aren using the tower key that you took from the chest.
Return Back to Gray Fox
Fast travel back to Chorrol and give the arrowhead to Gray Fox so you can complete the mission.
If you cannot fast travel, simply outpace the enemies nearby or get yourself some distance from Fathis Aren should he choose to pursue you still.
Arrow of Extrication Rewards
Promotion to New Guild Rank and 500 Gold
You will be promoted to a new guild rank and rewarded 500 Gold once you've completed the Arrow of Extrication quest and given the Key-Shaped Arrowhead to Gray Fox.
