The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion - How to Get and Use Sigil Stones

Sigil Stones are obtained from the main towers inside Oblivion Gates in The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered. Read on to learn more about how to get Sigil Stones and how to use them to enchant your gear, in-game.

How to Get Sigil Stones

Loot Sigil Stones from Oblivion Gates

Sigil Stone

You can get Sigil Stones when entering Oblivion Gates, as these stones are responsible for opening these Oblivion Gates in the game. Sigil Stones are usually located at the top of the main tower.

Once a Sigil Stone is taken from its pedestal, a pillar of light erupts from its place which closes the Oblivion Gate. You can check your Inventory to examine the effects of the Sigil Stone that you've acquired.

Do note that the effects of a Sigil Stone are not fixed to where it is located, meaning that a stone acquired from the same location may have different effects depending on the RNG mechanic of the game.

How to Use Sigil Stones

Enchant Items Using Sigil Stones

Step Enchant Items Using Sigil Stones
1

Open your Inventory and select the Sigil Stone you want to enchant an Armor, Clothing, Weapon, or Jewelry with.
2

Select the non-unique gear you want to enchant on the left. On the right is where you must name your Enchantment, and you’ll also see the effects and a preview of the final item.

The Sigil Stone’s effect changes depending on whether it's applied to Apparel or Weapons, as indicated by the icons beside the effect details.
3

After proceeding, you can now equip your newly named and enchanted weapon in your inventory.

Sigil Stones can be used to enchant your Armor, Clothing, Weapon, or Jewelry in your inventory.

Do note that the effects of a Sigil Stone may vary depending on whether its effects are imbued to either a weapon or apparel.
