The Arena quest requires you to climb through nine ranks of the Arena's Blue Team until you reach Grand Champion. Each rank, except for Champion and Grand Champion, has three matches that you need to fight in in order for you to move up in rank. As you advance in rank, the gold you receive from Owyn after each match will also increase.
To participate in matches, talk to Owyn at the Arena Bloodworks. Owyn will give you helpful tips about your opponents after you win the first couple of matches. Since these arena fights are to the death, there is no way to rank down.

The third match for each rank until you get to Champion is an advancement match. These advancement matches reward more gold—usually equal to the higher rank's gold reward—and allow you to rank up. However, some of these matches can be a bit difficult.
The final match for Hero in order for you to reach Champion will be fought against three opponents, including the Yellow Team Champion that often trains in front of Owyn. Porkchop the boar will aid you in this fight to make it a bit more fair. Once you get past this battle, you will become a Champion, the highest rank you can get from Owyn.

There is one final rank you can reach in the Arena. This is the Grand Champion rank, which requires you to defeat the current Grand Champion, Agronak gro-Malog.
Once you've reached the Champion rank and are ready to fight Agronak, talk to him to challenge him. He will accept. You can start the match by telling Ysabel that you're ready. You can use your own armor for this match, so make sure you have your strongest equipment on before the battle begins.
Defeat Agronak, and loot his corpse for Agronak's Raiment. Then, present this to Ysabel, and she will ask you to choose whether you want a Heavy Raiment of Valor or a Light Raiment of Valor as your reward.
It is recommended to complete Agronak gro-Malog's quest, Origin of the Gray Prince, first before challenging him for the title of Grand Champion. You will no longer be able to complete this quest nor recieve the quest rewards once you defeat him after all.

Upon defeating Agronak and claiming the title of Grand Champion, you will be able to fight against monsters or animals at the Arena once a week. These matches can be done at any time of day instead of the usual Arena hours.
You can choose to fight against one, two, or three opponents at a time. The amount of gold you earn for the match depends on how many opponents you choose to take on as well as your current level. The minimum amount you can earn is 40 Gold per opponent if you're at level 1, but higher levels can earn hundreds for each opponent.
Arena Rules
---
1. You can only wear an Arena Battle Raiment during matches. Removing or changing into non-arena armor results in disqualification. 2. You can provide your own helmet, shield, and weapon for matches. Removing or changing these during battle is allowed. 3. You cannot loot a defeated opponent's corpse or take their weapon or shield. 4. You can compete in the Arena at any time between 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM every day.
These rules do not apply to the Grand Champion matches.

If you change into something other than the Arena-issued Raiment (including removing your armor entirely), the match will automatically end and you will be disqualified. Getting disqualified twice will prevent you from fighting in the arena again.
Changing into another Arena Raiment mid-fight is allowed even if you change from the Arena Light Raiment to the Arena Heavy Raiment and vice versa. The only time you can wear other armor is for the match against the Grand Champion.
Other than the dress code, there aren't really any strict rules in the arena. You can use your own weapons, helmets, and shields, so feel free to equip the weapons suited to your playstyle.

Once you defeat an opponent, the game will prevent you from picking up any of their dropped equipment and looting their corpse.

Both the Arena Light Raiment and the Arena Heavy Raiment are full sets of armor, lacking only a helmet and shield, which you can provide yourself. Wearing one of these Arena Raiment is required to participate in matches. Otherwise, you will be disqualified.
If your Arena armor gets too damaged, you can replace it. Five sets of Light Raiment and five sets of Heavy Raiment can be found in the Raiment Cabinet beside Owyn. There are also more stored in the Raiment Cabinet next to Ysabel.

You can earn a total of 5,650 Gold for winning all the matches until you reach the Grand Champion Rank in the Arena. You can earn even more if you continue to participate in the weekly leveled matches after completing the quest.

You can choose to get either the Heavy Raiment of Valor or the Light Raiment of Valor upon defeating The Gray Prince, Argonak gro-Malog, and presenting his armor to Ysabel. You may only choose one of these Raiments.
