As much as possible it's best to use character-exclusive classes or special classes when deploying units. These units have unique skills that prove to be useful on many occasions, like the Successeur's Sol skill.
Best Classes for Each Unit
Each unit will also have classes that will naturally be better for them which can affect the best units you can actually deploy on your playthrough. There are also some units that have clear classes that are better for them than their given starter class with the most obvious one being Anna who has the highest magic scaling in the game but starts as an Axe Fighter.
It is also true that not all classes are made equally with some classes clearly superior than the rest of the possible classes in the game. Our Class Tier List lists down the best classes in the game so you can reclass your units to classes that may be better for them!
▶︎ Class Tier List and Ranking
Characters will only be able to promote their class to a higher tier by reaching level 10. One Master Seal is needed to promote a class to its higher tier. Master Seals can be bought from vendors, found in item chests or dropped by enemies.
Every time a character changes classes, it consumes a Second Seal. Second Seals can be found in chests, enemy drops, and bought in the marketplace.
Take note that characters can only change to classes that have the same proficiencies.
▶︎ How to Get Second Seals Fast
Different classes mean that each has a specific playing style and unique abilities. For example, classes like Great Knight can deal massive damage but will have to sacrifice mobility.
