What Does Luck Affect?

Add to Watchlist

Fire Emblem Engage - What Does Luck Affect

Luck (Lck) has different effects during combat in Fire Emblem Engage. Learn about the effects of the Luck stat, how to increase Luck, and the characters and classes with the highest Luck.

Luck Stat Effects

Determines Critical Dodge Rate

Fire Emblem Engage - Luck Stat

Luck's main role in combat is increasing Dodge, which is important for reducing the chance of getting hit by an enemy crit. The base value of Dodge is the same as Luck, so characters lacking on this stat should be more careful around enemies with increased Crit chance.

▶︎ Every Stat Explained

Also Affects Avoid Rate

Lck/2 + Spd x 2 = Avo

Luck plays a smaller role in calculating Avoid, which is the chance of evading all regular attacks. Half of a unit's Luck is taken with double the unit's Speed to get Avoid, so it isn't as impactful as Dodge.

Can be Used With Anna for Gold Farming

Fire Emblem Engage - Anna Make a Killing

Luck is also used to calculate the chance certain skills such as Miracle, Windsweep, and Lost & Found will trigger. This is especially useful for Anna who can possibly get Gold for every kill she gets with Make a Killing.

How to Increase Luck

Level Up and Class Change

Fire Emblem Engage - Class Change to High Priest High Luck

Every character has a Luck growth, so they have a chance of gaining an additional point per level up. Changing classes to one with high base Luck like High Priest is also recommended to maximize this stat.

Sync With Emblems

Increase Luck with Byleth and Tiki's Skills

Fire Emblem Engage - How to Recruit Byleth

Byleth has a skill that can increase Luck by up to 12, while Tiki's can increase it up to 10 depending on their Bond Levels. Both their skills can be inherited, so you can have them active while using other Emblems.

Boost Luck with Eirika, Micaiah, or Lucina

Fire Emblem Engage - Eirika Luck Boost

Other Emblems, namely Eirika, Micaiah, and Lucina, also provide a bonus to Luck while synced. The boost also increases at higher Bond Levels, with Eirika notably giving up to 10 Luck. However, there's no way to inherit these increases.

Use a Goddess Icon or Luck Tonic

Fire Emblem Engage - Chapter 19 Goddess Icon

The Goddess Icon is a stat-boosting item that permanently raises Luck by 2. It's fairly scarce, being found only in a few maps, so use it wisely! Alternatively, you can purchase Luck Tonics from the item shop to raise Luck by 2 for the next battle.
