Sommie mostly enjoys eating fruit. Feeding it food it likes will raise your bond with Sommie faster. Feeding Sommie food it doesn't like, such as Nuts or Spices, will still raise the bond but only slightly and still give out the same number of Bond Fragments.
You can only raise Sommie's bond through feeding once per battle, so best to give it its favorite food!
Petting and feeding Sommie give out 100 Bond Fragments each, for a total of 200. You can collect 200 Bond Fragments again by returning to Sommie after any battle, whether it's a story chapter, paralogue, or skirmish.
Once you've bonded with Sommie for a bit, you can bring it along for activities in the Somniel. It can help you by negating your misses in Strength Training and making fishing easier to complete.
▶︎ Somniel Minigames and Things to Do
Maximizing your bond with Sommie for the first time will add an extra page to the Ally Notebook. It will also save you up to 6 times in Strength Training and help you start fishing with up to half the meter cleared already.
Sommie can be found on the shrine in the Grotto after beating Chapter 4 and getting the prompt, "The air in the grotto is suffused with a mysterious aura." After bonding a few times with Sommie, it will begin following you around the Somniel.
Sommie is a mysterious creature who has been residing within the Somniel since ancient times. It appears and disappears in Somniel at their whim. This creature appeared again shortly before Alear woke up from their slumber. It is said that taking good care of it will bring good things that will benefit you.
In Fire Emblem: Engage, once located in Somniel, players can interact with Sommie in different ways such as feeding, petting, and dressing it up. After bonding with it several times, it will start following the player around Somniel and help in the fishing and weight-training minigames.
Fire Emblem Engage allows you to pet and feed Sommie. By petting and feeding this little creature, it can give you Bond Fragments that will help you in different ways!
Sommie's name can be changed upon meeting it. However, this is the only chance to do so, and the change will be permanent for the rest of the game.
By equipping different attire, Sommie's appearance can change, adding more cuteness and style to the already adorable creature. Changing any of its accessories or scarf color will slightly raise your bond with it, but besides that, it's purely cosmetic.
You can also equip these accessories and scarves onto Sommie in Photo Mode at the Somniel.
