Augmenting is the only way to improve Engage Weapons in Fire Emblem Engage (FE Engage). Learn more about augmenting Engage Weapons, why you should augment, and how to use augmentation.
List of Contents
Augmenting allows you to customize and improve the stats of your Emblems' Engage Weapons. This is similar to refining or engraving your regular weapons.
Engage Weapons are already powerful in their own right, but sometimes you'll want to give them a boost too. You can boost their Mt to make normal attacks and Engage Attacks deal more damage. Effectiveness can also be added, so you can take down Armored and Dragon enemies more easily.
Engage Weapons can also be given stat boosts, which reflect on your unit when they're equipped with the weapon. Augmenting could improve their defenses by allowing them to take more hits or increase Avoid to evade attacks altogether.
You can Augment by going to the Ring Chamber and then selecting Engage Weapons from the pedestal. Here you'll be given the option to Augment weapons or Strip them.
Capacity increases per Emblem for every Bond Lvl 10 or B-level Bond that they have. You can quickly reach this level by spending Bond Fragments for Emblem Training at the Arena.

Crystals and Banes determine what you'll be upgrading for the Engage Weapon. These can be added in any way as long as you have enough capacity. Crystal improves stats such as weapon Might (Mt), while Banes add effectiveness. Note that Weapons that are already effective against certain unit types, such as Marth's Rapier, can't use Banes to add or change them.
You can earn Crystals and Banes through Tempest Trials and Relay Trials. It's best to take on trials Level 25 and up to guarantee at least one crystal per run.
▶︎ Tower of Trials Guide: Rewards and How to Beat
If you'd like to change Augments on an Engage Weapon, you can strip out the crystal and replace it with another. Do note that this will NOT refund the crystal originally used, so it's better to increase capacity instead.
