Chapter 8: Joins at the Start of Battle
Amber becomes a playable character during Chapter 8: The Kingdom of Might. Amber, along with Diamant will automatically join Alear's ranks at the beginning of the chapter battle.

Amber is has one of the highest Str stats in the game, meaning he deals a lot of physical damage.
Whether as Great Knight or Paladin, use either Lance Power 5 or Sword Power 5 to further boost Amber's attacking power. By using Vantage++, Amber can also kill enemies before they land an attack.
Maximize Amber's movement range by using Canter+.

Utilize Amber's powerful attacks and high Str with Sigurd as his Emblem to increase his movement and defeat foes within his reach. This will make him a notable offensive unit.
Although Amber has a high HP growth rate, his starting HP stat is very low. Leif's skill can make up for this by allowing Amber to counterattack before enemies attack him.
Roy is a great alternative as he can raise Amber's Atk and his skill of surviving critical attacks with 1 HP can raise Amber's survivability in battle.

After clearing Chapter 22, players unlock The Connector Paralogue and can subsequently unlock the Pact Ring. This essentially acts as Fire Emblem Engage's S-Rank Support and romance route.
Alear can then give the ring to Amber once they have attained an A-Rank in support to view a special cutscene, and unlock a page in the reference about the life they lived together.
Amber's Memento
Asuper-fluffyalpaca doll. Amber worked through the night to make this for me as a symbol of our promise to fight side by side.
Apart from obtaining an exclusive ending with Amber after giving the Pact Ring, players can also head to Alear's room and check the small table next to their bed to find a memento from him.
While the memento serves no purpose in combat whatsoever unlike the Merc Whistle in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, it further contextualizes the paired ending selected by the player.

Chicken almost 3 yearsAmber can be a good Berserker to pair with Ike. He tends to get hit very often given his ability so it can be painful staying as a Paladin, especially with how low his speed is. Picking Ike and being a Berserker completely makes his avoid demerit negligible. It also gives him the highest strength cap in the game while also padding his health so he can actually take those hits. To top it all off, the 20 hit on Amber's skill makes him land his axe hits much more easily than anyone else.
