Fire Emblem Engage (FE Engage)

Terrains and Terrain Resistance Explained

Fire Emblem Engage Terrain

Terrains can give your units stat advantages or disadvantages in Fire Emblem Engage. Learn how to check terrain effects and the different types of terrain effects.

What is Terrain Effect?

Tile Types Give Different Effects

Terrains can affect stats and provide healing

Fire Emblem Engage Terrain Recovery

Terrains are the tiles your units occupy when battling in the game. Certain terrain could increase or decrease stats, such as Defense or Avoid, while other terrains could heal or damage units at the start of the phase. Some terrain, like thickets, also have additional movement costs, which limit how far your units can move.

Flying units are unaffected by most terrain effects

Fire Emblem Engage Flying Unit Terrain

Most effects of terrain don't affect Flying Units. Flying units are recommended if you see there's more terrain where disadvantages occur. Flying units also have terrain that only they can reach, so use this well.

Covert units double Avoid bonuses

Fire Emblem Engage - Terrain Covert Units

Covert units such as Thieves and Archers gain double Avoid bonuses when standing on terrain, making them effective evasion tanks.

Affects Enemy Units Too

Fire Emblem Engage Enemy Terrain

Enemy units are affected by terrain as well. Make sure they don't make their way to the tiles that provide advantageous terrain effects or lure them out of it so you can get the upper hand.
