Increase Bond Level Slightly

Fire Emblem Engage Polish Rings

Polishing the Emblem Rings gives you a slight increase to your Bond Level. It's nothing huge, but it's a simple way to top off on Bond Level when you need just a little bit more to level up Bond and don't want to go through a whole battle just to get it.

When You Can't Do Emblem Training

The only other repeatable method of increasing Bond Level at the Somniel is via Emblem Training. However, this costs Bond Fragments. If you're out of Bond Fragments, this is a viable alternative to at least getting some unit's Bond Level up.

How to Polish Emblem Rings

At the Ring Chamber

At the Ring Chamber in the Somniel, approach the Central Pedestal. There, you'll be able to select an Emblem Ring and a unit to polish it. The Bond Level will increase between the Emblem and the unit that polished its ring.

The Emblem Rings have statuses denoted by facial expressions. Green happy faces mean the Emblem Ring is in a great state and can't be polished at the moment.

▶︎ Things to Do at the Somniel

Press A or R while Polishing Rings

To polish the rings, you can either tap A repeatedly to polish a single spot or move the joycon back and forth while holding down R. Holding R polishes the ring faster.

Once the bar is fully green, then the ring is fully polished and you'll get your Bond.

Extra thing in ring polishing: There are "sweet spots" that let you clean the ring faster, possibly earning extra bond points (the Emblem will get music notes when you clean the sweet spot). When cleaning with A, the more sparkles that appear, the closer you are to the sweet spot. Once you've found it, you can clean with R to get a big part of the gauge filled up, but the sweet spot will move elsewhere.
