Battle Reset

Fire Emblem Engage Reset

If you don't like the stats that increased upon level up, resetting the battle is so far the only known way to reroll the stats. To reset, you have to save before fighting and reload the battle/map in order to return to that save point. Leveling up after the reset will increase slightly different stats on level up.

This is different from previous Fire Emblem games, wherein you kill the enemy and level up, then the game rolls to give you a random stat level up.

Rewinding Doesn't Affect Level Up

Fire Emblem Engage Rewind Mechanic

Currently, our testing has found that rewinding to before killing an enemy and leveling up doesn't affect the stats that grow. Rewinding then killing a different enemy to level up or using a different move to kill the same enemy has not changed the outcome of the level up stats.

When the Wrong Stat Gets a Buff

Fire Emblem Engage Level Up

Different stats receive an increase each time you level up, mostly determined by a unit's Growth Rates. However, there are times wherein the stats that increase are not the ones you want that unit to get buffed in. Strategic players would rather reset the battle to reroll stats on level up than see their unit receive "bad" level ups that pile up in the long run.

Retry works. Faster than save and reload. Loading a previous mid-battle save to redo arena DOES NOT WORK. This, however, is how to save scum doggo's silver ignot, just DO NOT REPEAT same actions to end battle.
