How to Open Chests and Doors
In Fire Emblem Engage, treasure chests contain various items to strengthen your units and doors give you access to certain areas. Read on to find out how to open them even without keys!

How to Open Treasure Chests

Open with an Adjacent Unit

Open Chest

Treasure chests can simply be opened by having one of your units stand next to it and issuing the open treasure command. Take note that the unit does not need to be of the Thief class.

Enemies can sometimes take the contents of the treasure chest before you do but you can still retrieve it by defeating them before they escape. Getting enemies to deliberately open treasure chests and defeating them on your next turn to retrieve the treasure is sometimes a useful tactic!

How to Open Doors

Open with a Thief Class Unit

Yunaka

Thief class units like Yunaka and Zelkov are able to open doors easily. It is recommended to bring Thief class units in stages where there are many doors to have an easier time clearing it.

If you do not have access to a Thief class unit, other units can break down doors but it will take them some time.
