Bane Books are items that you can use to grant SP to units in Fire Emblem Engage (FE Engage). Obtain Bane Books from clearing Tempest Trial and as a one-time reward for clearing the base game!

Complete Tempest Trials

By completing Tempest Trials from levels 41 and higher, you have a small chance to obtain Bane Books to augment your Engage Weapons. While the trials are unlocked early on, levels 41 and higher can only be unlocked after completing the base game.

You Can Also Get Crystals from Tempest Trials

Aside from Bane Books, you can also obtain crystals. Similar to Bane Books, these crystals can be used to upgrade your Engage Weapons so also take the crystals you can obtain on the stage you chose when choosing an appropriate tempest trial to clear.

Number of Obtained Books Does Not Increase on Higher Difficulties

While these bane books can be obtained from higher difficulty tempest trials, increasing the difficulty further higher (42+) won't increase the odds nor the number of books you can obtain per stage. If you simply wish to farm these bane books, clearing stage 41 trials are the most efficient method.

SP Books Are Also Added From Trials 41+

Aside from Bane Books, you can also start getting Novice Books and Adept Books as a reward for clearing the trial. These are items that you can use to grant SP to your units.

If you wish to get all books or still have no preference on which book you want to obtain, clearing the Vicious Volcano Trial 41+ can allow you to get all types of books in one go.

Bane books are not omnipotent. There are still engage weapons that cannot be granted a slayer effect. All the weapons that cannot be granted slayer effects are weapons that already have an innate slayer effect.
