What are Lost Items?

Previous Mechanic in Three Houses

Fire Emblem Engage - Byleth Lost and Found

In the series' previous game, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Lost Items are items you can find and give to other characters to increase their increase their Support Rank.

In Fire Emblem Engage, this mechanic is referenced in Emblem Byleth's Lvl 13 Bond Effect: Lost & Found.

When a unit that holds Emblem Byleth ends their turn next to an ally, there is a chance that their Support Rank will increase. This is shown by a message where the unit found that ally's lost item.

When Can You Return Lost Items?

Fire Emblem Engage Gift Shop

The Lost & Found Bond Effect only works in battle. In the Somniel, you can give items to your units as Gifts. If you give them items they like, you will increase their Support Rank with Alear.

These items can be found around the Somniel as sparkles or bought in the Flea Market.

This article isn't true. I just randomly walked over a tile in my paralogue battle with Marth and it said "returned lost item to Veyle." I then googled to see what it meant because I've never seen that in the game before.
