How to Escape the Depths

How to Escape the Depths

1. Collect the Renegade's Collar
2. Collect the MP Up Materia
3. Climb Up the First Set of Roots
4. Destroy the Rocks to Collect the Items
5. Climb the Roots Behind the Crystals
6. Push the Minecart
7. Destroy the Boulder
8. Head North to Find Ladders
9. Use the Lever to Open the Gate
10. Push the Minecart Again

Collect the Renegade's Collar

While playing as Barret, you can find a Renegade's Collar inside the Treasure Chest on your left.

Collect the MP Up Materia

You can pick up the MP Up Materia on the southeastern side of the map.

Climb Up the First Set of Roots

Move forward and head towards the eastern side of the map. Use the roots at the end of the tunnel to climb up to the top.

Destroy the Rocks to Collect the Items

Once you reach the first ledge, destroy the rocks using Barret's gun to collect some hidden items!

Climb the Roots Behind the Crystals

Climb up the second set of roots which you can locate behind a breakable rock. You can find the roots near the blue crystals.

How to Reach the Quarry

The second set of roots might be challenging to spot, as they can blend with the environment. You can find the roots in this area, concealed behind a breakable rock on the northeast side of the ledge.

Push the Minecart

Push the minecart in front of you to the very end to gain access to a Treasure Chest with a Bulletproof Vest inside.

After that, use the lever that's located near the end of the tunnel to switch the rail tracks then use the minecart to reach the quarry.

Destroy the Boulder

After reaching the quarry, move forward until you come across a large boulder blocking the path. You can destroy the boulder using Barret's gun.

Head North to Find Ladders

After talking to the group on the other side, head north until you find two ladders you can shoot down using Barret's gun.

The ladder on the right will lead you to a treasure chest containing 1,000 Gil, while the left one will lead you to a lever.

Use the Lever to Open the Gate

After climbing up the left ladder, use the lever to open the gate on your left. Enter the gate and you will find another boulder you can destroy using Barret's gun.

Push the Minecart Again

After destroying the boulder, push the minecart on the track you're currently on until the very end.

You will find a lever on the other side of the bridge. Pull the lever to open up a new path and then push the minecart one last time to open up the bridge for Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith!
