Complete Of Secret and Shadow Quest
Upon completing the quest Of Secret and Shadow, The Purification quest will automatically begin.
Lucien Lachance will reveal that a traitor lurks within the Brotherhood's Sanctuary. To ensure the traitor is eliminated, he orders you to kill all of the Brotherhood members in the Sanctuary—Ocheeva, Vicente Valtieri, Antoinetta Marie, Gogron gro-Bolmog, Telaendril, M'raaj-Dar, and Teinaava.
He will also provide you with two items that you can use on your targets: a Poisoned Apple and a Summon Rufio's Ghost scroll.
If you want to have more poisoned apples, you can search Lucien Lachance's quarters thoroughly to find a barrel full of them.
Kill All Brotherhood Members in the Sanctuary
Head to the Sanctuary. The simplest and quickest way to accomplish this special assignment is to sneak up on each member to kill them. You can stab them while asleep or within the privacy of their quarters.
Optional: Feed Them Poisoned Apples
Similar to the Whodunit? quest, you can also use poisoned apples to kill some of your targets. To do this, take all the food in the Sanctuary and pickpocket all the food from their inventory. When the targets eat, they will immediately die from poisoning.
Note: Telaendril only eats in the Sanctuary on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. M'raaj-Dar eats at 4am. Vicente Valtieri doesn't eat, so you will have to kill him the old-fashioned way.
Optional: Summon Rufio's Ghost
You can also use the scroll Lucien Lachance gave you to attack your targets.
Unleash Rufio's angry ghost against the other members and backstab them while they fight it. To eliminate as many as possible quickly, summon the ghost in the training room, where there may be as many as three members.
Report Back to Lucien Lachance
Make your way back to Fort Farragut in The Nibenay Basin. Talk to Lucien Lachance to complete the quest The Purification.
The Purification Rewards
Shadowmere
You will receive the horse Shadowmere as a reward for completing The Purification quest.
Shadowmere is the best horse in the late game, not only performance-wise but also because it can't be killed in combat and will only become unconscious if its HP reaches 0.
