Unwanted Tenants is located in Battlehhorn Castle west of Chorrol and unlocks after completing the Battlehorn Castle quest. Make your way to the castle's private quarters and interact with the movable pillar to open a secret storage room. Read Lord Jaren's Journal on one of the shelves to start the quest.

Defeat Lord Kain and Arielle Jurard

Defeat Lord Kain and Arielle Jurard

Make your way to the castle's training room and pull the candelabra on the wall right next to the archery target to unlock a secret passage. Make your way through the passage and you'll eventually arrive at a hidden lair where the undead Lord Kain and Arielle Jurard are waiting.

Lord Kain is not particularly difficult but Arielle Jurard is a lich and can be a troublesome to fight if you start the quest at low level. Once defeated, loot Lord Kain to receive the Dragonsword of Lainlyn and Lord Kain's Shield.

Loot Arielle Jurard to receive a key to open the leveled chest found underwater in the southwestern part of this area. You can also grab 3 Varla Stones on the upper portion of this room as a reward.

Unwanted Tenants Rewards

Dragonsword of Lainlyn and Lord Kain's Shield

Defeating the undead Lord Kain allows you to loot the Dragonsword of Lainlyn and Lord Kain's Shield from its corpse.

Leveled Chest

Arielle Jurard holds a key that you can use to unlock the leveled chest found underwater in the southwestern portion of the hidden lair where the undead are fought.

Three Varla Stones

You can also find and loot 3 Varla Stones in the upper part of the lair.
