Should You Forgive or Attack Hanzo

Choosing to attack Hattori Hanzo will result in a boss fight between Naoe and Hanzo in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows). Read on to see the outcomes of your choices in this Naoe quest!

Attacking Hattori Hanzo Results in a Boss Fight

Forgive or Attack Hanzo
Choice Result
Forgive Hanzo Naoe doesn't attack Hanzo and asks if they can really find her mother. Hanzo joins the league.
Attack Hanzo
(canon choice)		 Naoe is angered, and given one more chance to back down after some dialogue. Choosing to attack him once more will initiate a boss battle with Hanzo.

During the quest The Meaning of the Blade, Hanzo will reveal to Naoe that he leaked the location of Naoe's family to Ashikagi Yoshiaki. Despite his earnest apologies, Naoe's anger urges her to attack and kill Hanzo. Players are given the choice to forgive or attack Hattori Hanzo.

If players choose to forgive him, Naoe's personal questline ends, with Hanzo joining forces with her to look for her mother. Choosing to attack him will result in more dialogue, ending with another choice to attack or forgive him. This is your last chance to back down as attacking him will initiate the final boss fight of Naoe's questline.

Should You Forgive or Attack Hanzo?

Attacking Hanzo is the Canon Choice

Attacking Hattori Hanzo is the choice that aligns with Naoe's tendencies and emotions. As Naoe's anger grows, Hanzo pleads for forgiveness before Naoe decides to attack him regardless.

Naoe stays her blade after the fight ends, opting to forgive him after defeating him. While Hanzo declares that he must find out what happened to Tsuyu, Naoe tells him to return to the Kakushiba Ikki so that they can search for her mother together.
