Press Q, LB, or L1 Just Before an Enemy Attack

As Yasuke, press Q on PC, LB Button on Xbox, or L1 Button on PS5, during combat to parry. You'll need to perform this maneuver at the right time to successfully parry an enemy.

Parrying is exclusive to Yasuke

Yasuke

Yasuke's parry mechanic bounces off enemies, opening themselves to counterattacks while Yasuke stays in place without conceding terrain. Parries are exclusive to Yasuke similar to how Deflect is exclusive to Naoe.

Perfect Parry Causes Vulnerable State

Perfect Parry

You can perform a Perfect Parry by parrying an incoming attack at the right moment. This will put the enemy in a Vulnerable State which highlights an enemy with an orange glow, opening a window of opportunity to land more hits.

Which Attacks Can be Parried?

Normal Hits and Blue Swings Can Be Parried

Normal Hit.png

When an enemy is about to attack you can parry normal hits and blue swings. Successfully doing so leaves the enemy open to an attack.

Projectiles Can Be Parried

Projectile Parry

Enemy projectiles can be parried when timed right. This includes deflecting arrows and bullets. Parrying projectiles grants you the Master Samurai achievement.

Red Attacks Can't Be Parried

Normally, you cannot parry all enemy attacks. If the enemy emits a red glow just before attacking, this indicates an attack that you cannot parry. Instead, you can use dodge to avoid this attack.

Equip Engravings to Parry Unblockable Attacks

Unblockable Engravings

Note that there are some engravings that grants you the ability to Parry Unblockable Attacks. Once equipped, it grants you the ability to parry Red Attacks.
