Giving Wakasa Your Name

Prompt Responses Point(s)
[Wakasa]

(State the same name you gave to Imai Sokun) 1
(State a different name) 0

You need to talk to Otama, Satoko, and Wakasa who are the other three guests in Imai Sokyu's tea ceremony. You can tell them that your name is Shizuka, Sanuki, or Shigure. If you tell Wakasa the wrong name, then your fake identity may get revealed if you mess up all remaining answers with her, as you need to give her at least 4 answers.

The answers don't matter with Otama and Lady Satoko.

Wakasa will also have different reactions depending on the color of your kosode that you chose during Dress for Success, but this doesn't factor into your identity being kept hidden or not.

Shizuka, Sanuki, or Shigure?

Preserve Your Identity in the Tea Ceremony

Turn the bowl (Turn bow right twice) 1

Use what you learned from Sen no Rikyu during The Perfect Gift quest, and choose to bow halfway before the ceremony begins and then turn bowl right twice during the ceremony as it is the proper etiquette.

At the climax of the ceremony, all the guests will give their gifts to Imai Sokyu. Depending on your chosen gift during The Perfect Gift, Imai Sokyu and the guests will have different reactions but this does not have any effects on the story.

What happens next depends on the choices you made in the tea ceremony and whether your false identity was actually revealed or preserved. Your identity is preserved if you got a total of at least 4 points.

Naoe will suspect that the Golden Teppo might be Otama or Wakasa. It is at this point where you will need to choose who to confront between the two guests which will affect how the rest of the quest goes.

Should You Confront Otama or Wakasa?

Confronting Otama Kills Her and Wakasa

Whether you have preserved your false identity or not, confronting Otama will lead to you chasing her down and then killing her in the Defensive Position quest. The same outcome will happen if you confronted Wakasa with a revealed identity.

Naoe will then realize that the Golden Teppo is actually Wakasa, and you will have to find her in Osaka Castle.

Instead of a simple cutscene in an empty house, you will have to sneak around enemies in a guarded castle to find Wakasa and assassinate her.

Choosing Wakasa with a Preserved Identity Leads to the Truth

Choosing Wakasa with a Preserved Identity starts the Drive the Point Home quest instead. Wakasa will invite you to her home in which you are given the opportunity to walk around her house.

You will find the golden teppo displayed on a wall in her room indicating the she is the Golden Teppo. Pick the golden teppo up to trigger a cutscene where you assassinate Wakasa.
