Players can sprint in Assassin's Creed Shadows (AC Shadows) by pressing Shift on PC, and pressing Left Stick or L3 on consoles. Read on to learn the uses of sprinting and other modes of movement.

Sprinting can be toggled by pressing the assigned button. The default inputs are Shift for PC users, and pressing L3 or the Left Stick on PS5 and Xbox respectively.

Generally, sprinting is used to traverse the overworld. The map of Assassin's Creed Shadows is large, and sprinting can help reduce the downtime between missions.

Yasuke Can Break Down Doors while Sprinting

Sprint to break doors as Yasuke

Yasuke's Samurai Mastery Tree will have a special passive ability called Bull Rush. When learned, sprinting allows him to knock back enemies and break down doors on impact. You can upgrade this ability to deal more damage and to be more effective against large enemies.

As Naoe, Never During Stealth

Sneak as Naoe

Sprinting while in stealth will cause Naoe to make more noise, attracting attention. It is important for Naoe to stay silent and avoid sprinting during stealth missions when possible.

Are There Other Modes of Movement?

Lunging Lets You Swim Faster

Lunge while swimming

Activating your sprint in water will cause players to lunge. This sends players a good distances forward and makes them swim faster.

Horses Can Gallop

Gallop on horseback

Pressing the sprint input while on horseback will allow horses to gallop. This cuts down travel time on longer journeys.
